Iran screen actors Negar Javaheriyan, Atila Pesyani join theater play

Popular Iranian screen actors Negar Javaheriyan and Atila Pesyani are to go on stage in a theater play.

Famed Iranian screen actors Negar Javaheriyan and Atila Pesyani have joined the theater play ‘We Cannot Talk About It’.

It is the first time that the actor and the actress join a theater play together. They have had a joint experience in the movie ‘Negar’ directed by Rambod Javan. ‘Negar’ will soon go on the domestic screens.

With this play, Javaheriyan is set to return to the stage after a six-year hiatus.

The theater play ‘We Cannot Talk About It’, directed by Jaber Ramezani, will be performed in September and October at Samandarian Hall of the Iranshahr Theater House.

Born in 1957, Pesyani studied theater acting and directing at the College of Fine Arts, University of Tehran, and began his acting career on stage in 1968.

He made his cinematic debut in 1983 with the movie ‘White Death’ and has since appeared in numerous films.

Among the movies in which he has performed are ‘The Hidden Half’, ‘Ceasefire 1 and 2’, ‘Hidden Feeling’, ‘Throughout the Night’, ‘The President’s Cell Phone’  and ‘The Wooden Bridge’.

Some series which he has played roles in from 2006 to 2014 are ‘The First Night of Peace’, ‘Privacy Policy’, ‘Goodbye Child’, ‘A Piece of Land’, ‘Like a Mother’, ‘Madineh’ and ‘A Beautiful Revolution’.

Pesyani received a nomination for the Best Supporting Actor Golden Statue for the movies ‘Two Women’ (1998), ‘The Burnt Generation’ (1999), ‘The Last Supper’ (2001) and ‘Who Killed Amir?’ (2005) as well as a nomination for the Crystal Simorgh’s Best Leading Actor for ‘In Cold Blood’ (1994) from the Fajr International Film Festival.

Javaheriyan began her acting career on stage at the age of 15 and made her cinematic debut in 2002 with the movie ‘I’m Taraneh, 15’, directed by Rasoul Sadr Ameli.

Some of the movies in which she has performed from 2004 to 2015 are ‘Qadamgah’, ‘Girl’s Dormitory’, ‘Barefoot in Heaven’, ‘The Magical Generation’, ‘The Music Box’, ‘The Book of Law’, ‘Nothing’, ‘A Cube of Sugar’, ‘Without Reason or Cause’, ‘Stories’, ‘Melbourne’, ‘A Minor Leap Down’, ‘Dowry’s Sugarbowl’ and ‘Confessions of My Dangerous Mind’.

Among the series in which she has appeared are ‘That’s Not the Way’ in 2004 and ‘Under the Blade’ in 2007.

She won the Best Leading Actress Crystal Simorgh from the Fajr International Film Festival for her performance in ‘Gold and Copper’ (2009).
